Whether you’ve just moved to Saigon or you’re here for a holiday, getting waxed in a new city can feel like a small leap. The good news: a little preparation makes your first appointment quicker and more comfortable. Here are four things to know before you come in.

01

Let your hair grow to about 0.5-1 cm

Wax needs something to grip. At around 0.5-1 cm, the wax holds the hair well and it comes away cleanly. If you’re planning a wax around a trip, pause shaving for a while beforehand so there’s enough length.

02

Don’t shave or trim before your appointment

It’s tempting to tidy up first, but shaving or trimming makes the hair too short to wax. If you’ve shaved recently, wait until it grows back before booking.

03

Skip lotion and makeup on the area

Moisturiser, oil or makeup can stop the wax from sticking. In Saigon’s heat it’s easy to apply lotion out of habit. On waxing day, just keep the area clean and dry.

04

We calm your skin with cooling air afterwards

After waxing, Linh Lan uses cooling air at around -30°C to soothe freshly waxed skin, especially on sensitive areas. Hair is removed cleanly, and ingrown hairs are picked out one by one wherever possible.
