Men’s Brazilian waxing is still unfamiliar to many, so questions come up first: will it hurt, will it feel awkward, what will my partner think? Ho Chi Minh City is hot and humid, and more men are paying attention to hygiene and grooming here. This guide from Linh Lan Waxing in District 1 covers the pros and cons of men’s Brazilian waxing, plus preparation and precautions. How it feels varies from person to person.

What is men’s Brazilian waxing?

It removes pubic hair entirely or leaves a shape you choose. It was once thought of as something for women, but more men now do it for a clean, tidy feel. If it is your first time, it helps to know the pros, cons and aftercare beforehand.

Pros of men’s Brazilian waxing

  • A cleaner feel: In Ho Chi Minh City’s sweaty weather, many people find it fresher without hair.
  • Easier upkeep: With less hair, washing and grooming can feel easier.
  • A tidier look: You can take it all off or leave a shape you like.
  • With a partner: We have two treatment beds, so partners or friends can book the same time slot (divided by a curtain).

Many men wonder what their partner will think. Preferences differ, and a quick conversation with your partner is the most reliable answer.

Cons and things to watch out for

  • Pain: The hair is coarse and the skin is sensitive, so many people find it stings or hurts more here. It varies by person.
  • Skin irritation: Redness, folliculitis or ingrown hairs can occur, so aftercare matters.
  • Hair length: Wait until hair is at least 0.5 cm so wax can remove it from the root more easily. If it is too short, wait a little longer.

Right after treatment, avoid saunas, pools, the sea, hot showers and tight clothes. Gently exfoliate and moisturise. See waxing aftercare A to Z for details.

How we do it at Linh Lan

  • Small, sensitive areas such as the Brazilian area are done with hard wax, and the method is chosen by area and your situation.
  • If your skin is irritated afterwards, we finish with cooling air (about -30°C).
  • Therapists wear masks and medical-grade gloves, use single-use sticks and wipe the area with alcohol. Tools are kept in a UV steriliser.
  • Walk-ins are welcome at Linh Lan (you may need to wait if we are fully booked), open daily 10:30–20:00. Korean is supported with a translator. If it is your first time, tell us when you book.
